7. What would you do differently if you had to do it over again?
I would’ve tried to get funding. Any amount of funding! It probably would’ve made some things easier and also it would’ve been nice to pay everybody. They all volunteered their time and talent and I’m very grateful for that.

My friend Owen Thomas who plays the gay character, Preston, was the one who recommended Natalise. He worked with her years prior and I believe they share the same Bay Area agent.

5. How did you come up with the characters?
Drawing from my own personal experiences, it wasn’t too hard to come up with the characters. Most of them are exaggerations of real people I’ve met. And yes, the people I based them on had at their cores certain beliefs, assumptions, and perceptions about Asian-Americans.
